thequé-no?

I was raving about these tracks a few weeks back, now I've fiddled and sorted out a player from which you can listen to - but not download 320 tracks, I'll let you's hear them, yeah? you can have the one/s that have had their day... What's a couple of quid on some tunes??

First up is James Zabiela's "Darkness by Design", not really into the poppy/murky vocals but just after the mid-point there's an amazing blipping, glitching, acid-esque madness before it retreats back into a solemn groove.

James Zabiela - Darkness by Design

I was buzzing about this song for a while, it's sound like one big build-up, one of those where in a club you'd like to throw a penny at the DJ for being a fucking teasing twat, the drop (when it does come) is just like a step for another build, mental.

Turbo - Jamie Anderson, Deepgroove

Ohhh, Sandwiches, what a classic, played this to a few of my mates, it's just amazingly entertaining and a great track to have.

Sandwiches - Detroit Grand Pubahs

Hennon's "Ear to Mouth" had my ear buds (?) excited for some time, it's just got a good structure to it and has great movement.

Ear to Mouth - Hennon

"The Freaks Come Out" is a bellowing techno monster, it rumbles and blips it's way across 8 minutes with a great vocal hook to supplement the drop, brilliant.

The Freaks Come Out (Eric Entrena Remix) - Cevin Fisher

"Peep Thong" b y His Majesty Andre is plain and simple a house party must, you'll get the jist of it straight away.

Peep Thong - His Majesty Andre

Afrojack's remix of Steve Angello's "Gypsy" was part of the whole "Ethno" movement I think they're calling it, kind of like the whole kuduru sound mingled with techno (for [an unaccurate] example lol), good stuff.

Gypsy - Steve Angello

I imagine this track may have been a somewhat overlooked track of Alter Ego's, unfortunately...it's a great track.

Baby Kraut - Alter Ego

get a load of these...

Stumbled on these just now, both are just making my night.

Tetris - Electrixx

Taking the old classic theme and giving it a thundering plasmapool records kinda vibe to it, it's an absolutely massive, innovative and entertaining track, for me, it's a 10/10.

Give it to me - Zero Cash

Got a wicked mix of modern/retro feel to it and is bouncy as hell, got some bleeps that could belong to some old SNES classic, dunno which, though.

Official Birdy Nam Nam "Parachute Ending" Video

BIRDY NAM NAM - THE PARACHUTE ENDING - CLIP OFFICIEL

Trippy as fuck, great track, though.

Shakin' Baby, Shakin' Baby

Is it just me, or are the Aussie "SexWax" being totally ripped off by this Sexwax, or vise versa?

Anyway, pretty standard, attractive remix come through of Daft Punks' "Prime Time of Your Life":

Prime Time of Your Life (SexWax Remix) - Daft Punk

And this remix from Torpen gives a bit of a Bloody Beetroots 'Warp' madness to an already blisteringly loud track from Fukkk Offf, "Love My Shake", completed for the remix contest. Need to get my hands on the Fukkk Offf album actually, their work is damn addictive, and by the sounds of it, has a Benni Benassi-esque twist to it. Yes, I like Benni Benassi.

Indica Ritual

I've been fucking about so much with the way this blog looks ever since I created the damn thing, it's just that I learn new designing methods and then I think, hmm, I could make the blog look even BETTER now, so yeah, I pooped this out earlier, I hope you like it, it's a look I've been after for a while but took me 5 minutes to make today.

First off, this post has been a long time coming and I've been quite nervous about doing it in case I don't do the band any justice, just bear with me, though:

Indica Ritual are big business in Liverpool, tipped by NME as one of "Liverpool's hottest bands", awesome. I've seen them live supporting 2manydj's and Late of the Pier, (which was incredible), their fusion of indie-dance is ecstatic and crafted superbly, with buzzing waves of synth and at times, psychedelic vocals tied with a sort of cartoonish ominousness. "Big Business". Although, I feel out of place trying to explain their entirely unique sound. And their trousers:

Indica Ritual - My Night Tangle

Indica Ritual - Sasquatch in the Jungle

Gorton Vs Berger, well, can't tell you much really, Tom from Indica is one of the two is about as far as my knowledge stretches. But for sure, it's good shit.

Lars Wickinger

Hailing from the Berlin techno scene, Lars Wickinger is a mighty name in techno even if not splattered across the blogs in flashing lights. His latest EP sees tracks constructed with hardware and mesmerizing vocals, while "Alicia @ The Wonderland" and "Greenland" sure hold some mighty techno grooves it is "The Swing Side of the Moon" that seems to be capturing everyone's imagination and certainly my own. The vocals of "Alicia @ The Wonderland" have received some prolific attention but I personally don't drool to it, "Greenland" has some attractive 'snatchy' vocals and an energetic groove but I feel is nothing more than a techno hit that will be lost amongst a throng of others, saying that, they're still songs to be enjoyed at the time. "The Swing Side of the Moon", however, is the track that excels, it shouldn't at all be discredited being B2 material, it showcases a darker side to techno while also incorporating the sound that has been infecting techno lately, "BLIP BLIP BLIP" I think it goes...
